Nilsen in Denmark

Two of the books in the series I have illustrated about baby Nilsen recently got published in Denmark by Lamberth Publishers! The Danish books are larger in size than the originals, and the name "Nilsen" has turned into "Niller". Fun!

I love working digital, but I also love the look of a rough sketch! It's always challenging trying to transform a bit of the hand drawn look of the sketch into a finished illustration. This is a test I made today with that in mind. I like the combination of hard and loose edges.

I've used the same illustration for my e-newsletter and business cards for years. I still love the design, but I've made several versions of it as my illustration style has grown in new directions. Last month I figured it was time to make yet a new one to represent the kind of style I work in at the moment. It's fun to look back and see how my style has changed! Nr. 1 is watercolor and ink, nr. 2 acrylic paints, nr. 3 and 4 digital.
