This weeks Illustration Friday topic is "Baby". It was a bit difficult to figure out the colors in this one because I'm used to working with strong colors. I think I managed to soften the colors but still keep them strong.

When I worked as a graphic designer I created a lot of logos. A common problem for designers is that there's always some clients that doesn't understand how much work there is behind a logo. This leads to a lot of requests for cheap logos. Today I read some interesting articles that explains why a logo costs money. I guess it's our job as designers to educate our clients about the creative process.

I illustrated two spreads for the May issue of Highlights High Five Magazine. The story I illustrated was a read-aloud story in both English and Spanish. It was really fun to work on!

This week, May 12-18, is Children's book week. It all began with the idea that children's books can change lives. Children's book week is sponsored by the Children's Book Council, and has been celebrating books and reading since 1919. I encourage you to read a children's book this week!
